THE STORY

Leadership where it counts.

Aaron Keith Hawkins didn’t come to leadership through a classroom. He came to it on the job, in roles where making the wrong decision carried severe consequences. He retired as a Police Captain and Division Commander, which meant leading people through high-stakes situations where the pressure did not let up and the decisions were his to make.

From there he moved into developing leaders full time. For twenty-three years he ran training for an organization, rewrote the policies it operated by, and carried it through a culture transformation that culminated in state accreditation. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and holds a master’s in administrative leadership from the University of Oklahoma. Along the way he also led inside Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies, so he has seen leadership from the public side and the corporate side both.

Hawkins Leadership Group exists to give people who move into leadership the foundation no one prepared them with. Every lesson was earned, not borrowed.

WHY THE FOUR ELEMENTS

What thirty years kept proving.

Across thirty years, collaborating with hundreds of leaders from dozens of countries, one thing kept proving true. The leaders who made a difference weren’t tracking thirty leadership characteristics or diagrams. They were doing a few things well, over and over. The Four Elements of Leadership™ is what those few things turned out to be, intentionally organized so any leader can actually use them.

That framework is also what the HLG Leadership Culture Index™ measures. So when it reads the current status of your leadership culture, it reads it through thirty years of judgment cross-checked against published research, not a generic survey. You can see the full framework, and the research supporting it, on The Four Elements of Leadership™ page.

The gap in actionable information is the enemy of leadership. Not the organization. Not the leaders doing the work.
